In-situ Remediation of GroundwaterIn-situ groundwater bioremediation technologies have been gaining an increasingly broader application during the recent years. The technologies involve the addition of specific ammendments to stimulate and increase the number and vitality of existing bacteria capable of degrading the contaminant to innocuous end products. They can be applied to contaminants such as halogenated aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons, petroleum hydrocarbons or even trace elements.
