RockWorks
Visualizing and Analyzing Subsurface Geologic Data
- Integrated geological visualization and analysis software
- Addresses the needs of those in the environmental, civil engineering and mining industries
- A variety of easy-to-use graphical tools with advanced interpolation algorithms
Overview
RockWorks16 is the latest version of RockWare's flagship software program. RockWorks has long been the standard in the petroleum, environmental, geotechnical and mining industries for subsurface data visualization because of popular tools such as maps, logs, cross sections, fence diagrams, solid models and volumetrics.
RockWorks offers numerous options for analyzing your subsurface data, and accepts many different data types, such as stratigraphy, lithology, quantitative data, color intervals, fracture data and hydrology and aquifer data.
In addition to its already impressive collection of existing capabilities, the latest RockWorks version has numerous new features, including an MDB borehole database, an interactive log designer, graphic editing tools, and much more.
Applications
Geotechnical
RockWorks is a great tool for geotechnical and civil engineers to use when evaluating construction and excavation sites. Whether you're in the beginning, middle or ending phase of a project, you'll find that RockWorks will save you and your clients both time and money. Details...
Environmental
RockWorks contains numerous tools that will help the environmental professional along the path from site characterization to remediation planning and execution. Whether you're in the beginning, middle or ending phase of a project, you'll find that RockWorks will save you and your clients both time and money. Details...
Petroleum
ockWorks includes many software tools for the oil and gas industry. From creating cross sections and isopach maps all the way to reservoir modeling, RockWorks gives you the tools to get the job done. Details...
Mining
RockWorks is well suited for use with coal, industrial mineral (aggregates, limestone), and other stratabound economic deposits, in both the exploration and production phases. Details...

Features
Logs, Log Sections and Log Maps
Create individual logs or multi-log cross sections and maps in 2D and 3D. Arrange log columns using the interactive design window. RockWorks displays both vertical and deviated/inclined wells. Details...
Maps
Use RockWorks to create point, contour, isopach, 3D surface, land grid, and survey maps. Details...
Cross Sections
Create single- and multi-panel 2D cross sections of interpolated lithology, stratigraphy, quantitative data, fractures, and aquifers. Include source log data, borders, titles, legends. Details...
Fence Diagrams
Create 3D cross sections or fence diagrams of interpolated lithology, stratigraphy, quantitative data, colors, fractures, and aquifers. Include source log data, borders, and legends. Details...
3D Solid Models
Use RockWorks to create continuous models - "solid models" or "block models" - of your downhole quantitative data (geochemistry, geophysical, geotechnical), your lithology intervals, and/or your fractures. For quantitative data, a variety of modeling algorithms are available; lithology and fracture modeling use data-specific processes. Details...
Data Types
Use RockWorks to store and interpolate lithology, stratigraphy, geophysical, geochemical, fracture, and water level data. Details...
Database Tools
RockWorks stores data in MS Access (Level 3+) or SQL Server (Level 5) databases. Details...
RockWorks Utilities
Maps, stereonets, rose diagrams, Piper and Stiff diagrams, coordinate conversion and more. Details...
RockWorks EarthApps
A RockWorks EarthApps is a collection of tools used for the creation of Google Earth diagrams. Details...
Volumetrics and Pit Optimization
RockWorks offers both interactive viewing of volume computations, as well as detailed reports. Details...
